What do you think?

Its great! but could you add collistion and knockback?

This is ridiculous, anyone could recreate this in 5 seconds with RMXP and a few lines of Ruby. Don't release a demo until you have something to show.

OO coloca praa

Wow your game seems intriguing, for how long have you been working on it, and can i try it by myself?

Overview

Harvest Rogue is an ARPG in the same vein as Zelda or Terranigma. It features a dual world, crafting, as well as a story. It uses pixel art graphics, and a real-time sound synth for legit chip tune music.

Current State

The game is currently in *very* early pre-alpha!

There are some basic gameplay elements, but it is very far from feature complete!

There are builds released, but the bleeding edge ones require keys to access. DM Essial#9325 on discord if you'd like access. We're looking for testers, not players at the moment.

Supported Platforms

We currently target Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX. We would like to eventually add console versions if the game gets popular enough.

8 hours later, it turns out there was an internal issue between the acl tool and java. After doing some crazy magic my binaries are finally able to be notorized. Release will be coming today!

Spent literally 4 hours troubleshooting apple's notary service issues and had to give up for the night. Hopefully I can figure it out tomorrow so I can get this build uploaded!

Finished the first draft of enemy attacks and AI! I'll be releasing a fresh demo tonight or tomorrow with these updates. If you'd like to help test, please PM for a key.

Last night I got the basics of combat working. The enemy now reacts to being attacked and chases/flees. Today I'll be adding the ability for the enemy to fight back!

The artist is almost done supply a new batch of tiles. I finally have almost everything needed for the first draft of the starting area! I'm continuing to work on combat and menuing for the next few days. Hopefully a new release on friday!

Added in support for iframes for all mobs, and have started working on enemy AI for fighting.

After much pain, I've finally figured out how to get the music engine to work in MacOSX without requiring custom frameworks to be manually installed! I've also implemented GameJolt's API as well!

I've created private builds of the game. If anyone wants an access key, feel free to DM me.

Finished implementing the dialog system. The text scrolls as expected (with proper line breaks), 'jump to end' support for people who like skipping dialog, as well as multiple dialog pages.

Updated to using pixel shaders instead of CPU for the effects. Also finished getting the windows port (OSX is the primary OS I dev in) working as well!
